Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge

The Hong Kong – Zhuhai – Macau Bridge is an ongoing construction project, consisting of a series of bridges and tunnels connecting the three cities along the Pearl River Delta in China. The 50km link is expected to cost $10.6 billion USD, and will become one of the landmarks within the area. The longest bridge section will be 29.6km long, and will include three cable-stayed spans between 280m – 460m. Construction formally began on December 15, 2009, and the last bridge tower was raised on June 2, 2016. The last last straightened-element of the 4860m long immersed tunnel was installed on July 12, 2016. The original projected opening date on October 15, 2016 was pushed back, and is anticipated to open to traffic in December 2017.
 
In 2011, four piles were tested by Loading Test Institute of China Ministry of Communications utilizing Ougan Technology’s Super Cell solution.
